In order to gain your Endorsement Waiver, you need to complete four (4) elements of testing. You need to complete the Level I Knowledge Test and Level I Skills Test and the Level II Knowledge Test and Level II Skills Test. If you have successfully completed one of our Learn to Ride Classes within 365 days, you only need the Level II Tests to gain your waiver.
Permit Knowledge Test consists of :
50 multiple choice questions
- 80% (or more) for passing score
$44 fee for test
- Valid drivers license or acceptable photo I.D required at check in.
Endorsement Knowledge Test consists of :
25 multiple choice questions
68% (or more) for passing score
$45 fee for test
- Valid drivers license or acceptable photo I.D required at check in.
Skills Tests
Required for all Skills Tests:
- Valid driver’s license
- -Insured
- -Street legal-current license plate and registration
- -Functional front and rear brakes
- -No fuel, oil, coolant or other fluid leaks
- -Tires with legal tread (2/32″) and proper inflation
- Helmet certified as meeting US DOT requirements (49 CFR Sec 571.218)
- Eye protection defined as goggles, glasses, or faceshield
If on the day of testing the rider and/or motorcycle do not meet requirements, the test will NOT be conducted and the rider/applicant will
be directed to call the office to reschedule for a fee of $50/51.
Permit Skills Test consists of 5 separate evaluation runs
- Cone weave and stop in a box (normal stop)
- Right turn from a stop and left U-turn
- Swerve
- Quick stop
- Cornering
$51 fee for test
Endorsement Skills Test consists of 2 separate evaluation runs

Cornering Run
$50 fee for test
Other information
- No practice offered before test (training classes offer practice)
Test will be stopped for: falling or dropping the bike, stalling four times for permit level, stalling 2 times for endorsement level, point accumulation, unsafe acts, and failure to follow or understand instructions
- $50 retest fee
- DOL will charge endorsement fee
Cancellation, Transfers, No Shows, Refunds
- 72 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule
- $15 admin fee applies to cancels or reschedules
- No refunds if less than 72 hours notice
- No refunds for No-shows
- No exceptions
